Ravalli County Burn Permit Information

To obtain a Burn Permit for the first time visit:    https://app.egovmt.com/burnpermit/

Note: You will use your assigned permit number for subsequent years and renew your permit.

Open Burning Regulations:

March 1 - November 30: This is the Outdoor open burning season in western Montana, and the permits are administered through the County's Burn Permit Program.

December 1 - End of February: Permits may be issued by the State of Montana's Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).  https://deq.mt.gov/air/Programs/burning

You may check daily burning status and activate your day's burn through the state's Burn Permit Program site at: https://app.egovmt.com/burnpermit/, or by calling 866-212-6318. Please refrain from calling the Dispatch Center or Sheriff's Office to inquire about burning status.
